Capture them with content

Many people would have you believe that there’s a secret to engaging your audience. But the secret really is: there’s NO secret. If you want to capture the attention of your market, there are certainly no shortcuts. You’ve got to exhaust all means possible to deliver what they need – engaging content.

So how exactly do you do this? Now, that’s the right question! There are literally a thousand ways to go about it but let’s try and whittle it down to an easy-to-remember five. Here we go!

Speak their language. You’ve got to connect with your market and what better way to do that than to speak their language? Targeting millennials? Then you’ve got to wake. Older adults? Go simple and straight to the point. Speaking their language is one of the best ways to establish rapport so that’s an excellent place to start.

Be where they are. Don’t be everywhere and anywhere. Be where your audience is. Are they mostly on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter? Is TikTok big with your targeted demographic? Be wise with where you want to launch the full brunt of your campaign. That way you don’t have to waste so much energy on platforms where your audience isn’t on anyway.

Connect with influencers. Whoever said that influencer marketing is waning is definitely telling a lie. Influencers can do so much for you! One photo of an influencer using your product is worth a thousand words. All you have to do now is to find the right person who best represents the identity of your brand.

Your audience as influencers? Why not? Influencers can come with a hefty price tag so why not go straight to the people who really matter? Your market. Incentivise! Give them discounts when they post photos with your product and chosen hashtag. Be creative with games and promos. Be generous with giving away free stuff. Don’t underestimate the power of word of mouth. When the market approves, then capturing more attention wouldn’t be a problem at all.

Content. Content. Content. At the end of the day, it still boils down to good, old content. Talk about what matters to your audience and link that to your business, service, or product. Nothing beats relevant, interesting, well-written content. Just imagine your post being shared several times over. That’s free media mileage right there!
